Baby Yoga: Gas And Colic Relief For Your Baby
Would not it be nice to know that both your baby and your wife are enjoying yoga? It is a fact that yoga provides many benefits to our body and mind. For babies, it also gives more practical benefits like Colic Relief. Aside from making your baby bond with you and your wife while doing yoga, it also makes your baby release unwanted gas. You would not want your baby to have gas and colic.
Colic in infants is a condition which makes babies cry or scream on frequent basis and extended periods of time without any particular reason. Colic in infants is normal for the first couple of weeks after birth but should disappear naturally. Colic is commonly experienced by babies up to four months old but can extend to a year. Either breast-fed or bottle fed, colic is inevitable for all babies alike. Ideally, you need to immediately deal with your baby’s situation to give them more comfort.
Researchers conclude that colic in babies are caused by certain exposures to cigarette smoke, insufficient melatonin, circadian rhythms and stress experienced by the mother in the last trimester of pregnancy. You would notice that your babies have colic when they frequently cry more than usual. Whatever the reason is, you have to treat it now and yoga would help your baby experience less colic.
Take about 5 minutes a day of your time and spend it in yoga with your baby. Start the exercise by positioning your baby properly lying on the yoga mat. In a circular motion, gently massage the tummy of your baby. Talk to your baby while you are going through the exercise. This will increase the parent-child bonding. Then begin with a bicycle exercise. Make sure you do not force the movement of the baby. Next position is the half lotus for a couple of times. Then gently pull the legs to stretch him a bit. Then bring the knees towards the direction of the chest then left and right. One more perfect position is by bringing the soles of the feet together and also move the feet in the direction of your chest.
Of course, you would hear unwanted gases going out from your baby. This means that you’re performing the routine properly. Perform yoga on a regular basic and allow your baby enjoy yoga with you.
